The Eccentric Dog Leg Reamer (EDLR) is a drilling tool used to condition the borehole by removing ledges and micro-ledges. These ledges can lead to increased Torque and Drag which leads to wasted energy and decreased efficiency. The tool is designed to have high and low-pressure systems around the tool which break up cuttings dunes. This process results in a cleaner wellbore and increased drilling efficiency.
- Vortices around tool force cuttings dunes to break and migrate up to the surface
- Keeps wellbore free of excess cuttings, ledges, and rough sections
- Allows lateral sections to be drilled out further
- Reduced possibility of packing off and lost circulation
